Hi there! Today I don’t have a video to share, but I did want to write something about the card that I made. Recently I bought some great shaker materials on AliExpress and when I got them I wanted to start with the peppermint polymer clay slices (I will post a link down below).
I went through my Lawn Fawn dies and found the Snow Globe Gift Tag. I haven’t used it a lot, so it was time to get it out again. I cut everything twice out of white cardstock and also cut two pieces of acetate with the outline die. For the green accents I used a scrap of the Snow Day Remix 6×6 pack.
I glued the acetate onto both white cardstock pieces and cut off the top to make a nice rounded globe. Then I traced one layer with my 2mm foam tape and treated the edges of the window with a little bit of my anti static powder tool. Once that was done I filled the snow globe with all sorts of cute Christmassy shaker materials (white stars, peppermints, iridescent sequins and some iridescent caviar beads). And then I could put the front piece on top.
I had some gingerbread friends from last year lying around and decided they could really work with the snow globe, as if they are holding it. I used Nuvo Crystal Drops (Simply White) for the white accents and Stickles (Christmas Red and Holly) for the candy buttons on their bellies. Once they dried I put some Ranger Glossy accents on top to make it perfectly rounded.
I also had some snowflakes out of white cardstock I could use.
Now some of you might be wondering what I used to make the scalloped slimline piece. It’s actually a Lawn Fawn die! There is a scalloped rectangle in the Flippin’ Awesome Add-on. I did a partial die cut, placed it a little further and did another partial die cut to create a slimline rectangle with scallops.
I masked off the edges and used some cracked pistachio distress oxide ink to make a gradient from dark to light. I left the bottom white to give the illusion of snow on the ground.
Behind the panel I used some red glitter cardstock to bring out the red of the peppermints.
For the sentiment I got one of the Tiny Tag Sayings and stamped it with some candied distress ink.
Lastly I glued it onto a white cardbase and the card was all done!
I hope I explained it well enough. I will list the materials below and some pictures as well.
